2nd Day: Bratislava (1 night) - Gabčíkovo (1 night), 58 km

The route leads from the right bank of the Danube in Bratislava - Petržalka and follows the way downstream, with secluded places housing plenty of water birds.

The bike track passes lakes with crystalline water ideal for summer swimming. The tour will enable you to see the gallery of modern art Danubiana and remains of the Roman military camp Gerulata.

Gerulata Museum in Rusovce, a small village on the Danube that once was part of the Roman fortification system of Limes Romanus province Panonia. The Romans built a military settlement here, and the museum shows artifacts from that era.

3rd Day: Gabčíkovo - Komárno (1 night), 60 km

The tour continues on a good track with a nice view of several branches of the Danube, and on the way you may taste some of the local fish specialities.

Water Tower in Komárno.

Fortress in Komárno - the biggest and strongest fortification system against Turkish raids and against Napoleon in the former Austro-Hungarian Monarchy.

Historical centre in Komárno provides a suitable place to relax.

4th Day: Komárno - Štúrovo (1 night), 58 km

The last part of the Danubian cycling tour in Slovakia offers an opportunity to visit remains of the Roman military camp Kelemantia or to swim in the thermal water park in Štúrovo. You may continue the tour from Štúrovo to Hungary or take an international train, connecting Central with West Europe.

Remains of the Roman military camp Kelemantia from 200 AD is surrounded by beautiful nature near the river Danube; this place undiscovered by tourists so far is a real oasis of calm.

The Bridge of Mária Valéria over the river Danube enables a visit to the historical town Esztergom in Hungary with its monumental basilica.
