The combination of wine and culture is perfect for getting to know this country: what has been learned during the day, needs to be processed during late afternoons or evenings.
Slovakia has a lot of wines and a lot of culture, all still to be unveiled and valued.

 ITINERARY

  • Day 1: Bratislava

  • Arrival at Bratislava (transfer from Bratislava or Vienna airport to the hotel).
  • Guided tour of the old town (2 hours), visit of Primate Palace.
  • Attraction

  • Classicist Primatial Palace - the former residence of the cardinal where the "Treaty of Pressburg" was signed, after Napoleon's victory against Austria in December 1805.
  • Day 2: Bratislava - Small Carpathians - Bratislava

  • Sightseeing of castle Červený Kameň.
  • Wine tasting and special lunch with "husacina" - baked goose in Small Carpathian Region.
  • Attraction

  • Husacina - typical local delicacy from goose, with potato pancakes, red cabbage and wine.
  • Castle Červený Kameň - the castle itself has cellars of an unbelievable size: a three-story building could fit here from ground to ceiling.
  • Day 3: Bratislava - Castle Topoľčianky

  • Visiting National Stud Farm and Museum of the castle.
  • Lunch in the historical premises of the castle.
  • Excursion to a wine producer and tasting of regional wines.
  • Attraction

  • Castle Topoľčianky (National Cultural Monument) - former summer residence of presidents of the republic and of Habsburg royal dynasty.
  • National Stud Farm is the only place in Europe where four different breeds of horses (Arabian Thoroughbred, Lippizaner, Hucul and Slovak Warmblood) are raised.
  • Day 4: Castle Topoľčianky - Banská Štiavnica (Unesco) - Castle Topoľčianky

  • Visiting of historical mining town Banská Štiavnica (Unesco).
  • Regional wine tasting with traditional Slovak food and folklore music.
  • Excursion to unique stone dwellings.
  • Attraction

  • Main sights of Banská Štiavnica - New Castle, Old Castle, historical square with the highest plague pillar of the world, underground mine-shafts.
  • Underground wine cellars used as shelters against Turks in the 17th cent.
  • Day 5: Castle Topoľčianky - Bratislava/Vienna

  • Depart from hotel to airport in Bratislava or Vienna.
  • Included in the program:
