Music performance in Bratislava in the historical building of the Slovak National Theatre
Resumption of pre-Verdi Italian belcanto, mainly minority opera titles by Gioacchino Rossini, Vincenzo Bellini a Gaetano Donizetti, belongs to modern dramaturgic trends of European musical theatre.
Lucrezia Borgia is a sectional piece by bergam maestro, which consist of characteristic melodic richness, perfect dramatic instinct and a sense of musical gradation.
All of these parts are connected with suggestive theme where repugnant historic character of the main heroin stands in the centre of attention.
Suzan Gilhuus, Slovak director living abroad, comes to Bratislava to produce this chic piece. She has already directed two successful productions: Alcina by Handel and Nabucco by Verdi.
Oliver Dohnányi, internationally reputable conductor, comes back to national theatre after a long time to conduct Donizetti’s masterpiece.
