Resumption of pre-Verdi Italian belcanto, mainly minority opera titles by Gioacchino Rossini, Vincenzo Bellini a Gaetano Donizetti, belongs to modern dramaturgic trends of European musical theatre.
Giacomo Puccini´s last work takes a very special place among Puccini´s operas and in the entire operatic oeuvre.
