  Topolcianky Castle***

Topolcianky Castle (National Cultural Monument) - former summer residence of Czechoslovak presidents and Habsburg royal dynasty.

The castle was often visited by president Masaryk (1918-1935), who used to live here with his daughter Alica 3–4 months of the year.

 

The original renaissance fortress from the XVI cent. was later rebuilt in baroque and classicism. The castle offers excellent accommodation facilities for individual tourists, families with children and groups.

 

Newly reconstructed rooms are equipped with toilet, shower or bath, radio, telephone. Apart from the standard double rooms or single rooms, guests may choose luxury historical apartments (Presidential apartment, Small presidential apartment, Alica's Apartment).

 

The castle is situated in a large English park with lakes and rare kinds of trees. In the park there is the Riding Hall of National Stud Farm as well, Small Hunting Castle and fish-pond. From the castle a tourist path leads to the ruins of mediaeval fortress Hrusov with charming view.

 

The castle is located in West-Slovakia, about 120 km east of Bratislava.

Rafting down the river Hron (3-4 hours, easy level) in beautiful scenery, after rafting barbecue with beer, archery and relax on the bank of the river.

 Clay-pigeon Shooting

An unforgettable experience is clay-pigeon shooting in the local forests among friendly foresters and hunters.

Shooting is suitable for beginners too. The whole procedure is under guidance of expert instructors and foresters.

An essential part of clay-pigeon shooting is the traditonal Slovak home-made slivovica. The foresters will prepare an excellent goulash.

 Fishing in the River Hron

You will be taken by canoe to choose the right spot for fishing. We will provide you fishing gear and baits according to you fishing preferences; it is also possible to be taken to a special store with fishing supplies.

An experienced guide will be 8-10 hours a day at your disposition. Main fishing season - from June till November.
