Liptov and Pohronie Fishing Regions
Fishing in Liptov
The region of Liptov is one of the most suitable regions for fishing in Slovakia. It is located in the part of Central Slovakia. With an area of 1970 square kilometers it is part of three different national parks: the National Park of High Tatras, the National Park of Low Tatras and the National Park of Veľká Fatra (Large Fatra). The highest summit is called Bystrá which is on 2.248 meters above sea-level.
From 16th April each year until the lake of Liptovská Mara is frozen over, which is usually at the end of December, one may choose fishing as one of many sporting or relaxing activities. We are convinced that we are able to satisfy the wishes of each amateur or professional fisherman.
Fishing in Pohronie
Pohronie region spreads from the central part of Slovakia (Upper Hron) to the South-west part of Slovakia (Lower Hron). The upper part of the region is suitable for fly-fishing and spinning, the lower part mostly for spinning.
The landscape is surprisingly colourful and full of variation, with all its hills, woods, fields, vineyards and towns in the distance.
The main fishing season in Pohronie is from June till December; the best time for grayling is September and October; for trout this is June.
