Osteoporosis Spa Stay

The Special balneo rehabilitation program in Spa Piestany of non-pharmacologic treatment of osteoporosis, which is especially recommended for people with such disorders.

The main target of this stay is stimulation and refreshment of the muscular system, improvement of statodynamic function of backbone and derogation of pain.

These positive effects are achieved by using special exercises and rehabilitation.

Package of services at the same time contains a special diet regime.

Recommended length of stay to achieve positive therapeutic results is 3 weeks. Minimal length of stay is 13 nights.

Accommodation

Accommodation in single or double rooms of standard category.

Board

- full board with special diet;

- diet is based on meals with high content of calcium and other elements, which improve the absorption of calcium into organism;

- part of the diet is the use of modern calcium nutrition supplements.

Physical and medical examinations

- initial medical examination, prescription of individual therapeutic program;

- control examination (medical check-up);

- final medical examination, written medical report with recommendation for further therapeutic regime;

- 24-hour medical emergency and nurse service.

Healing treatments

Special therapeutic and rehabilitation program based on physician's prescription including up to 24 treatments per week (7 overnight stays).*

Program aimed at treatment of osteoporosis includes these treatments:

- bath in thermal mineral water;

- special rehabilitation and motoric program aimed at stimulation of dexterity and adroitness, condition and prevention against injuries;

- carbon vasoactive therapy: dry carbon baths, tub carbon baths and gas insufflations;

- further treatments based on the physician's prescription, composed of local peloido-therapy with Piestany mud, fango therapy, hydrotherapy, magneto-therapy and other electro treatment, a drinking cure and others.

Other services

Free entrance to pool and fitness centre.

*Treatments are not provided on Sundays and on national holidays.
