  Low Tatras
  • Many indicated hiking routes rise from the valleys in the Low Tatras. The visitor will experience rich flora, karstic structures, caves and precipices.
  • The Low Tatras Mt. do not only provide excellent conditions for hiking, but also for wintersports.
    • Attractions
    • Caves with remarkable stalactitic and stalagmitic decorations and with colourful display are like a magic show to each visitor.
    • The thermal waters in Liptovsky Jan with a temperature of 28.2 °C heal skin and reumatic problems, difficulties of the metabolism; they sooth neural diseases, as well as diseases of heart and blood-vessels.
    • Here in 19th century was founded an organization for soberness, which tried to keep the people from drinking strong liquor. A typical Slovak liquor is 'slivovica', plum brandy, which nowadays is also very much appreciated by foreign tourists.

  • The fresh air in the Tatras have a genial influence on human organism.
  • Per square kilometer the Tatras Mt. have a higher concentration of beautiful nature than the much more extensive Alps.
    • Paradise for Tourists
    • The hiking trails take you to lovely mountain lakes and waterfalls; you will pass untouched nature with magnificient views all around.
    • The first known touristical outing in the High Tatra Mt. was realized in 16th century by a castle lady from nearby Kezmarok. For this she was imprisioned in the castle tower for six long years by her furious husband.
    • We would especially advice an evening stroll on the romantic, well renovated medieval square in Spisska Sobota and have dinner in one of the local restaurants.
