Variant "A": Bratislava - Danubiana - Bratislava (40 km)
Special bicycle route from Bratislava leads along the border of the Roman empire Limes Romanus with remains of roman military camp Gerulata and the gallery of modern art Danubiana at the water reservoir Hrušov.
Before your way back to Bratislava, you may relax on the cafe terrace of Danubiana gallery, with nice view over the river.
Variant "B": Bratislava - Danubiana - Danubian Forests - Bratislava (90 km)
If you decide to continue the tour, follow the way alongside the reservoir Hrušov (on your left) to villages Vojka and Bodíky. Near Bodíky there are a couple of lakes surrounded by Danubian forests with crystalline water ideal for summer swimming.
Attraction
Gerulata Museum in Rusovce, a small village on the Danube that once was part of the Roman fortification system of Limes Romanus province Panonia. The Romans built a military settlement here, and the museum shows artifacts from that era.
Danubiana - museum of modern art standing on a peninsula at the Danube, built in colours of De Stijl by a Dutchman.
Lakes of Danubian branches surrounded by Danubian forests (Lužné lesy) are suitable places for summer swimming or fishing with a lot of different kinds of fish.
Danubian forests (Lužné lesy) are home to rare water birds including the biggest Slovak bird, the predator White-tailed Eagle.
