Canoeing on the river Hron

Canoeing in Slovakia, an easy, romantic trip in a canoe on the last meanders of the river Hron. As most people visit the upper Hron, we are choosing the quiet unfrequented lower reaches of the river.

Here are the last meanders, with shrubs and woods, lots of birds and warm, clean water and here and there a few fishermen.

As the river flows, you are able to swim or just relax in the sun on the rocks in the river, and to catch fish if you want. The landscape is surprisingly colourful and full of variation, with all its hills, woods, fields, vineyards and towns in the distance.

Program of the trip

Day 1: start in Kalná nad Hronom at 10 am, instructions, handing out equipment, float to Jur (17km), evening at the campsite.

Day 2: continuing the float to Hronovce or until Čata (17–27 km).

Day 3: last stage to Kamenín or to Kamenica (17–19 km), finishing at around 5 pm, departure home.

Included in the program

Boat and equipment (canoe, paddle, life-jacket, waterproof barrel).
Transfer from the end of the trip to the car (only for drivers of their cars).
Instructor.
Camp fees.

Boat: firm inflatable canoe for 2-3 people, or raft for 4-5 people.
